Math
*I can compare different unit fractions of the same whole, limited to denominators of 10 or less
*I can compare the same unit fractions of different wholes.
A fraction review sheet was sent home with your child on Friday. Please practice these questions and discuss where your child might find fractions in their environment.

Literacy & Science
Wow! This week, students began their animal research projects. They worked in small groups to read facts to each other and record notes. Then, they used these notes to write paragraphs about their animals. Have your child share their animal work and group work experience with you. This inquiry will continue for the next few weeks. Check out some work examples below.

Robotics
*I can apply creativity when designing instructions to achieve a desired outcome.
Mr. Newman taught students about a "programming sequence" to follow. Ask your child to share their sequence (e.g., direction, sound).
Literacy
*I can examine and apply a variety of processes to comprehend texts.
*I can make predictions before and while reading, viewing, or listening to a text.
This week, students focused on prediction skills by reading "Monster & Mouse Go Camping" and rubbed a "crystal ball" to create examples of what might happen in the story. Students also drafted non-examples. Have your child share their predictions.
