Remembrance Day
We learned about Remembrance Day and enjoyed reading a newspaper focusing on animals that supported soldiers in the war. We used the newspaper to generate ideas for journal entries. Students also created art pieces that will be displayed during the Remembrance Day assembly next week.
Halloween
Wow! Our costumes were spooktacular! Students enjoyed a school-wide parade and spending time with their Grade 5 buddies creating loose parts Halloween pictures. Students also created "Halloween Timelines" of their costumes over the years. This supported their sequencing skills and ability to label their illustrations with accuracy.

Home Literacy (Started Nov 1st, 2023)
The CBE has made a mandatory shift in reading practices to align with research-based practices, as well as the new curriculum. With this shift, they have announced a change from "Home Reading" to "Home Literacy". On Wednesday students brought home a "Home Literacy" folder with information about our new plan moving forward. Please ensure you check your child's backpack and let us know if you have any questions. Please support your child to complete a square on their "Reado/Bingo" literacy board.
Have a great weekend!
