Financial Literacy
This week students continue to explore financial literacy. Students were given $100 to spend on camping and needed to decide how much they would spend on needs versus wants. Ask your child how they allotted their money. Was more spent on needs or wants?
Art (Teacher's Pet)

Students participated in an art program that supported the grade two curriculum connected to our Social Studies "A Community in the Past" unit. This rich learning opportunity, had students look deeply at art while focusing on the prairie region. They create a painted canvas using various techniques and colors from an interpretation of Ted Harrison's original work. Check out their paintings below.
Zoo Field Trip
On Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, students will be departing promptly from the school at 8:30 a.m. and returning at 2:15 p.m. We will be traveling by school bus provided by Southland Transportation Ltd. Students will participate in the “Dino Styles" learning program. Students will explore dinosaur adaptations, fossil creation, dinosaur diversity, parental care, and the food chain. They will apply mathematical knowledge to measure length using units. Students will also explore the zoo exhibits in small groups.
Students are required to bring a lunch, a water bottle, and a snack for the day. Students will not have the opportunity to purchase food, so it is important for students to come prepared. Students are expected to dress appropriately for the weather. Students are asked to leave all electronic devices at home.

Have a wonderful weekend!
