Literacy

This week we explored comic strip writing. Students were eager to share their thoughts and ideas and give feedback to peers. This form of writing will help prepare students for the story-writing process and convey their message in a variety of formats. Check out our rubric below.

* I can look at a variety of features that enhance the meaning of messages.

* I can create imaginative representations that include characters, a setting, and a sequence.

Social Studies

We continue to learn about communities. This week we focused on urban and rural concepts. Have your child share 3 things they might see in each setting.

* I can identify characteristics that define a community.

Art

This week students created beautiful Halloween haunted houses. Next week we look forward to writing about them. They will line our hallway the week of Halloween.

Have a wonderful weekend.
