 Hello families,

Grade 2 had a fun week, with many happy moments throughout the second last week of school. The joy shared in the classroom was captured in numerous pictures.

June 25th – Grade 5 Farewell (10:00 – 11:30); Grade 6 Farewell (1:00 – 2:30) 

June 26th – Report cards are visible to parents through PowerSchool  

June 27th – Last day of school for students (11:30 dismissal) 

Classroom Camping

*I can participate in a variety of roles in different learning contexts.
Thank you to the volunteers who joined us to make this event a success, fun was had by all!

Students were excited to decorate tents, play camping bingo, write about camping, play with beachballs and build forest creatures using clay.

Pancake Breakfast

Yum, yum! Thank you to the Batter Boys and our parent volunteers for organizing this exciting event for students. Fun was had by all!

Eunice the Goat

*I can respect animals when interacting in various environments.

The sweetest baby goat visited Grade 2 students this week. Thanks to Diane (Walter's Mom) for arranging this special opportunity. Safe to say Grade 2 students and Eunice are equally spirited at the end of June! Laughs and squeals (goat and student) were shared by all. 

Classroom Awards

*I can reflect on how personal relationships are maintained or strengthened. 

Wow! Now that was a rockin good time! Our Grade 2 celebrities strutted their stuff down the awards carpet rocking some new sunglasses! Students were given compliments from their parents, teachers and peers. Have your child share their compliments with you.

Sports Day

We had an incredible time celebrating Sports Day with our Grade 5 buddies! Thank you to the staff Sports Day committee and the grade 5 and 6 students for organizing such a fun event.

Our events this week included:

• Basketball Shoot
• Discus Throw
• Chicken Toss Relay
• Long Jump

Classroom Camping

On June 17th, 2024, Grade 2 students will participate in "Classroom Camping," a day to build community and independence through camping-related learning tasks. Students are invited to bring a camping chair, hat, and flashlight labelled with masking tape and names. Students can also bring themselves a special snack (e.g., Smores). We respectfully decline any group snacks due to allergies and dietary concerns. We look forward to this exciting day! Thank you.
